Seniors

 

Senior club Tennis:  (Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. onwards).

Senior club tennis is held throughout the season from September to April at 6:30 p.m. onwards.  Through the summer months, free coaching is available for the first hour.

Senior club tennis is also organised for Sunday mornings from 10:00 a.m. during the summer months. Sunday morning tennis is happening now!
  

Senior Interclub:

The club has a number of senior interclub teams in the Northern Tennis Region competitions.  In the 2010-2011 season the club has entered the following teams in Tennis Northern interclub competitions:

Women:   1st grade.........  1 team.      
               3rd grade.........  1 team.
Men:        2nd grade......... 1 team;    
               4th grade.......... 1 team  
               6th grade.......... 2 teams
Mixed       3rd grade..........1 team;   
               6th grade.......... 2 teams.

New members are encouraged to make themselves available for interclub teams.

  
Senior coaching:

In addition to the free coaching on Thursday evenings interclub teams can purchase coaching sessions from the club coach. Individual coaching sessions can also be purchased from the club coach. ( See "coaching page" for details).
  
Senior Championships: 

Each year, usually in March or April, the club holds a championship tournament in men and womens singles and doubles, and mixed doubles. In the past two years these events have also been open to the clubs better junior players. (A full list of events and the current champions can be seen in the "prize giving" section of the Notice Board on the home page).
  
Business House Tennis:

The club held a Business House tennis competition in autumn 2008.  Another competition was held in may and June 2009. The club has not held an event in 2010 focussing instead on a 75th anniversary tournament at the Albany indoor courts. The club plans to hold another event in May 2011. Notice of this will be  posted on the website 'notice board' with a link to an application form. Club and non club members are ellgible for this event. There are prizes for all teams on completion of the competition.
  
Special Senior events:

Special tennis events are held from time to time throughout the year and are organised by the club committee or the club coach. Examples of these events include a Family Tournament, and an Open Day. In 2010 we held a 75h anniversary tournament at the Albany Tennis Centre.
